About The Panchang
The Panchang is the traditional Hindu almanac. For every day it gives five limbs: the tithi (lunar day), the vara (weekday), the nakshatra (the Moon's star), the yoga (a measure from the Sun and Moon together) and the karana (half a tithi).
This page works out all five for your own town, with sunrise and sunset, the Moon's sign, Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda, Gulika, Abhijit muhurta and the Choghadiya periods. The menu leads to the festival and vrat lists, Ekadashi, Purnima and Amavasya dates, and the monthly calendars.
Times change with place, so always choose your own city. For a big event, use the Panchang together with the Muhurta page and your own birth chart.
